Madame Tussauds launches the 10th attraction in Bangkok

As the worlds second largest attraction operator with highly acclaimed brands like Sea Life, Legoland and London Eye in the portfolio, Merlin Entertainments Group is bringing to Thailand the worlds favourite wax museum "Madame Tussauds Bangkok" the first in Southeast Asia. The launch press conference of which is scheduled for Thursday September 30th, 2010 at 14:00 hours with the venue being 1st Floor, Grand Hall, Siam Discovery.

Madame Tussauds has enjoyed an ninterrupted history of development. Over a period of some 250 years, the world has turned to Madame Tussauds as a barometer of fame because only the most celebrated personalities of the world are chosen to have their wax figure likeness crafted. The wax figures at Madame Tussauds are known to be most realistic with respect to height, shape, facial characteristics and even attires. Every detail is reproduced with care by a team of professional artists who spend an average of four to six months working on a figure. More than 500 million visitors worldwide have witnessed and been fascinated by these wax figures and the interactive environ in which they are presented, complete with dramatic audio and visual accompaniments. This chance of being up close and personal with ones favourite celebrities is coming to Bangkok on December 4th.

On this occasion, Madame Tussauds Bangkok is most honoured to be granted royal permission to create wax figures of HRH Prince Mahitala Thibed Adulyadej Vikrom Phra Baroma Rajajanok (The Prince Father) and HRH Princess Srinagarindra (The Princess Mother) in remembrance of their kindness. Other wax figures created are of important individuals of Thailand and the world who have made significant contribution in their respective fields so as to perpetuate the story of their accomplishments for visitors, Thai and foreign alike, to understand and appreciate.

The press conference will feature Mr. Paul Williams, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Bangkok; Mrs. Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd.; Anne Thongprasom, Thailands best loved lady superstar whose wax figure is featured as well, together with Ananda Everingham who will share with the audience the impressions he has had from his reprisal of the Red Eagle Thai superhero role. The same one that made Mitr Chaibancha famous in the years gone by. This press conference will also see Southeast Asias premier unveiling of Mitr Chaibancha, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Michael Jackson wax figures!
