Educational Themes
Choose one of the following focus themes, each available for two different age groups (grades 5 – 8, and grades 9 – 12). Each focus theme includes an interactive and educational scavenger hunt designed for teams of 2 to 4 students. The scavenger hunt takes approximately 45 to 50 minutes to complete. In addition to the scavenger hunts, this resource is designed with flexibility and offers a range of activities and ideas to enhance your trip to Madame Tussauds Hollywood. You select the topic and exercises best suited to your students.

Theme 1 - Hollywood History
Unlock the script notes of how Hollywood Projected and Directed Culture
Since the first movie studio opened in Hollywood in 1911, Hollywood's pop culture has influenced individuals and communities worldwide. Students can follow the script notes through Madame Tussauds Hollywood and unlock the relationships projected between Hollywood and our cultures past and present.
Theme 2 - Superheroes Real and Fiction
Uncover Ways to Save the Planet
From Barack Obama to Iron Man, the characters featured in this scavenger hunt have all contributed to saving the planet. Leadership positions, super powers, green initiatives and more come together and are revealed in a unique look at superheroes.
Theme 3: Hollywood Blockbuster to Madame Tussauds First Mask
Discover the Secrets of Visual and Theatrical Effects
Hollywood blockbusters are known for their special effects and Madame Tussauds wax figures are known for detail and life-like effects. Students will discover the secrets and behind-the-scenes details of creating these visual and theatrical effects. They will learn about the technology that was available to Madame Tussaud in 1767, how special effects have evolved over the decades and experience the green screen of today's blockbusters. Students will leave with the knowledge to create their own visual and theatrical effects back in the classroom.
Theme 4: Madame Tussauds Connections to World History
Explore the Links
Madame Tussaud sculpted historical figures that shaped our world history. She sought contemporary personalities and leaders such as Ben Franklin, Napoleon and Marie Antoinette. Students will explore the links between Madame Tussauds today and the milestones of yesterday.
