history. This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to experience and celebrate the
significance of the PRC’s 60th Anniversary.”
Earlier in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong
arranged a special appearance of the former leaders of the People’s Republic of China, Mao
Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping’s wax figures, celebrating the charitable movie
premiere of The Founding of a Republic.
The Chinese Leaders and Heroes exhibition opened in 2007, which coincided with the Hong
Kong Special Administrative Region’s 10th Anniversary. The exhibition includes father of
modern China, Dr Sun Yat-sen; marxist military and political leader, Mao Zedong; prominent Communist Party of China leader, Zhou Enlai; pioneer of Chinese economic reform, Deng
Xiaoping; Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Wen Jiabao; and
China’s first astronaut, Yang Liwei. Several of China’s current leaders are also present
including President of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao; and former President of the
People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zemin.
