Connie Chan says “I do”
The launch ceremony was attended by Ms Chan's fellow actors from the play, including Shek Shau and Cheung Kwok Keung, as well as comedy grandmaster Kam Kwok-leung.
"The play is about a 1970s actress who survives the many ups and downs of life to finally find true love," said Ms Chan. "The wedding dress is a perfect representation of my role in this delightful story."
The wedding dress was custom made and designed to match Ms Chan's elegance; and was sponsored by Mona Lisa Bridal Salon.
Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong & Shanghai said: "This is the first time in the history of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong that one of our wax figures has worn a wedding gown. We are pleased to re-style Connie's existing wax figure to represent her latest role in Crazy for Her. This not only gives a fresh look to the figure but also offers a new experience for Connie's many fans, as well as new visitors to the attraction."
Ms Chan also said: "It has been a wonderful experience working with Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and I hope that my friends will also enjoy the comedy Crazy for Her!"
Ms Chan's wax figure, featuring its all-new look, will be on display in "Movie Premiere" from now until late January 2009.

Crazy for Her
Ms Tsang first appeared on the TV screen in the 1970s. Her talented and unique acting style overwhelmed everyone in Hong Kong and marked her splendid career. She was a true superstar.
Comedy grandmaster Kam Kwok-leung tailored the role of Ms Tsang for Connie Chan Po-chu, whose achievements and brilliance mirror the great star.
However, Ms Tsang and Ms Chan are vastly different: Ms Chan admitting that it takes a huge amount of effort to vividly portray the superstar throughout the play.
The play shows life's fortunes and misfortunes – Tsang's life interlaced with a myriad of characters: a mild-mannered husband; reliable friend; crafty mother; lover; artistic master and peaceful cousin.
Shek Sau, Candice Yu, Lee Hong Kum, Cheung Kwok Keung, Rensen Chan and Johnson Yuen take turns to appear on the stage as these characters.
