Jolin Heats Up the Summer

HONG KONG (June 18, 2009) – Ultra hip Taiwanese pop icon Jolin Tsai dazzled guests today at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong as she showed off her spectacular dance moves, marking the first time that the celebrity’s wax figure has appeared in the city.

On loan from Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s sister attraction in Shanghai for the next three months, Jolin Tsai or rather her incredible wax likeness will help guests flaunt their style, and show fans and guests alike the true meaning of girl power.

“In addition to be being a spectacular dancer, Jolin is known for her diverse talents and bubbly personality that never fails to impress. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is thrilled to welcome her to the ‘world famous home of the famous’; and we invite guests to dress up and be part of the Jolin magic this summer at our attraction,” said Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Standing with her arms in an ‘X’ position in front of her, Jolin Tsai’s wax figure – dressed in a costume featuring several shades of blue, along with arm and wrist bands – radiates chic style and flair. With a delicate blue ribbon and hair sticks completing her outfit, Jolin’s wax figure was inspired by her high energy Pepsi commercial.

Jolin added, “I am very excited that my wax counterpart will be meeting fans and guests at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. I invite visitors to deck themselves out, strike some stunning poses and snap some glitzy photos with my wax likeness this summer!”

From now until July 17, 2009, members of Jolin Tsai’s official fan club around the world will receive a special admission rate of K$100 per adult ticket, upon presentation of a valid membership card. From July 18 to September 17, 2009, official fans can enter the attraction for HK$125.

Jolin Tsai’s wax figure will be located in Music Icons and will take the place of Louis Koo’s wax figure, which will be returning to Shanghai.

Created in partnership with Pepsi, Jolin Tsai’s wax figure first appeared in 2007, and is one of five Pepsi celebrity spokespersons featured at the Pepsi Studio at Madame Tussauds Shanghai.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong welcomes guests from 10am to 10pm daily. For ticket enquiries, please call (852) 2849 6966 or visit www.madametussauds.com/hongkong/.
