Rembrandt van Rijn


The Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn left school early to study painting, he studied with Pieter Lastman and quickly became a fashionable portrait painter revealing a great ability to capture human personality. In 1642 he painted his most famous work, The Night Watch. It is believed that there are only 300 examples of his work in the world today.
