Madame Tussauds - London

One Direction - Back By Popular Demand!

14th August 2013

The wax figures of pop sensation, One Direction, proved such a big hit on the London leg of their Madame Tussauds world tour that our talented sculptors have worked 24/7 to create five NEW figures, now taking up permanent* residence here at our world famous attraction.

The original figures created a storm here in London when they were unveiled in April and are now wowing fans in New York, before travelling on to Madame Tussauds Sydney in October and then the latest tour location to be announced - Tokyo - in 2014. But, the demand for their return to the UK has been so overwhelming, we pulled out all the stops to get the new wax figures of the boys back in their fully themed room.

"We decided to create a whole new wax band to stay here in London!"

“We knew One Direction were going to be a hit here at Madame Tussauds London, but the fans reaction has been sensational,” explains our PR Manager, Nicole Fenner. She added: “We were inundated with requests to keep the figures but we couldn’t possibly have disappointed the fans around the world looking forward to them visiting their countries. So, we decided to create a whole new wax band to stay here in London and our team worked around the clock to get them back into the attraction, with fans now being able to visit them again in their specially themed room!”

The outfits the new figures wear have been donated by the group, and reflect clothing the boys can be seen wearing in a concert scene from their upcoming film. The group sit casually together on a school-style double bench where fans can also sit right beside them.

They are dressed in their smart casual, colour co-ordinated stage style, with Zayn sporting a black leather jacket, complete with black skinny jeans and grey t-shirt, Harry dons a fashionably relaxed look, with black trainers and jeans plus grey wool jacket with pocket handkerchief. Liam rocks a denim jacket, with hoodie and grey t-shirt worn underneath, with black trainers to finish off the look, while Louis goes jacket-less, wearing a long sleeved grey and black t-shirt with black skinny jeans, finished off with his trademark missing socks. Finally Niall keeps it casual with white high top trainers, black skinny jeans and white t-shirt topped off with a bomber jacket, with sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

*Please note that Madame Tussauds reserves the right to remove or alter figures for technical, operational, health and safety or other reasons without prior notice.
