Mo Farah's double take moment on the London Marathon finish line!

Exactly one week before he competes in his first London Marathon, we delivered another double whammy for two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Mo Farah CBE, revealing not one but TWO startlingly life-like wax figures on the finishing line of the epic event. Portrayed in his trademark "Mobot" pose, the figures will be racing into our London AND Blackpool attractions later this month due to massive public demand.

"Like the rest of the country we're backing Mo Farah for the London Marathon and we wanted to do something special to wish him well," commented Nicole Fenner, our PR Manager. "The reaction of the public on the Mall today reflects just how much of a national treasure Mo has become and wherever he comes in the race on the 13th he will have the love and support of the nation behind him. We have had plenty of "double takes" from people today with not one but two amazing likenesses and we know when his figures take up residence in London and Blackpool fans will seize the opportunity to emulate the pose and pay tribute to an amazing sportsman."

"I cannot wait to meet both of my doubles!" Mo Farah

Our Blackpool attraction is similarly looking forward to welcoming their “Moboting” figure. Matthew Titherington, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool added: "We polled guests to find out which Olympian they wanted to see featured here at Madame Tussauds Blackpool and the response was overwhelmingly in favour of Mo. We were delighted to help imagine what the scene might be on the finishing line in London in seven days time with our Moboting figures and we know our visitors will grab the chance to measure up to him and try out their own Mobots."

Mo has been heavily involved in the creation process giving a sitting for our studios team before starting his Marathon training in earnest. He is familiar with the incredible artistry having seen his friend Usain Bolt's likeness when it visited the Olympic Stadium last year.

Mo commented: “I saw Usain Bolt’s wax figure at the Anniversary Games last year and couldn’t believe how brilliant it was. I said then that I’d love one of my own and I’m so excited that it’s now really happening. I cannot wait to meet both of my doubles!”

The British track and field World Champion will take up residence in the interactive sports zones at both of our attractions. Here in London he'll join fellow Olympians Usain Bolt, Tom Daley and Jessica Ennis and in Blackpool he'll be in the company of international stars Tiger Woods and Lewis Hamilton. Our new wax figures will take up residence here in London and in Blackpool in mid April.
