Usain Bolt Sprint Into Heathrow Terminal 5!
Unsuspecting travellers at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 found a sporting super hero in their midst this morning (12th July) when Jamaican running sensation, Usain Bolt, greeted international arrivals with his trade mark “To Di Mark” lightning bolt pose. The Bolt in question was the athlete’s startlingly life like new wax figure paying a surprise visit as the airport welcomes record numbers of passengers arriving for the big event.
The dramatic figure will be here at Madame Tussauds London in a couple of weeks, but hundreds of fans were given an exclusive advance preview at Terminal 5 today - and they took full advantage of the chance to pose alongside the hugely popular sprinter.
We are very proud of our new figure of Usain Bolt and wanted to treat some of the thousands of people coming in to London in the coming days with a surprise welcome from one of the biggest names taking part in the competition. We hope they enjoyed their close encounter with the fastest man on earth as we know guests to Madame Tussauds will when he joins the A-list line up.
Susan Goldsmith, Terminal 5’s Operations Director: “As London 2012’s Official Host Airport, we are proud to welcome all athletes to Heathrow, including those in wax sculpture. It’s certainly put a smile on people’s faces here today and brought the buzz and excitement of the Games to Heathrow.”
Don't miss your chance to check out the figure here in London from Monday 23rd July.
