1993 Collected the Thrift Drug Triple Crown of Cykling
1994 Again won the Thrift Drug Classic and came second in the Tour Du Pont in the US
1995 Took stage 18 of Tour de France in honor of teammate Fabio Casartelli
1996 Finished 12th in the road race at the Olympic Games
1996 Drops out of Tour de France in the 7th stage due to illness and is diagnosed with cancer a couple of months later .
