Meet Melo's Wax Double
Carmelo Anthony is Immortalized in Wax
New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony unveiled his wax likeness along with help from the Knicks City Dancers for the first time on June 26th at Madame Tussauds New York.
Posed in his Knicks home white uniform and his signature size-15 Jordan Brand Nike sneakers, which were donated by Anthony, his wax figure stands focused on the basket, ready to shoot a free throw.
Anthony was an active participant in the creation process as well and spent more than three hours with a team of Madame Tussauds studio artists who took hundreds of precise measurements and photos to ensure the accuracy of his wax figure – including the meticulous recreation of Anthony’s signature tattoos.
The Knicks City Dancers, who embody the sophistication, diversity and glamour of New York City, tipped-off the unveiling of Anthony’s wax figure with a live performance.
Anthony’s wax likeness will join other New York sports heroes at Madame Tussauds New York including Derek Jeter, David Wright and Eli Manning in the attraction’s “Sports Zone,” which also features the likes of Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, Yao Ming and Evander Holyfield among others.
