His Holiness the Dalai Lama meets his match in Sydney!
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has today met his Madame Tussauds wax double during his visit to Sydney.
Upon meeting his wax figure for the first time in Sydney, His Holiness was asked if he thought his wax figure portrayed him accurately, to which he replied, “I think quite similar…the only difference is this (pointing to himself) can speak, and this (pointing to the wax figure) cannot”.
After an initial sitting on 15th May 1993 in London, His Holiness has been portrayed by Madame Tussauds at various points in his life, with the Sydney figure portraying him from 2010.
His Holiness, who is nearing 78 years of age, is at the start of a 10-day visit to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Darwin.
