MTSH Bring Guard of Buckingham Palace to Expo


June 17th, Shanghai Few days ago, Expo’s UK Pavilion appears to have a new tourist attraction site--the royal guard of the Buckingham Palace. In reality, this is one of Madame Tussauds Shanghai’s special exhibitions during the Shanghai Expo. The figure is borrowed from the wax museum in London to guard the UK pavilion until the end of Expo.

As everyone knows, Buckingham Palace and its royal guards are one of the main tourist attractions in London. Wearing their distinct leather hats and red coats, these guards represent the high status of the English royalties, and the purpose of Madame Tussauds Shanghai’s exhibition is to bring this English royalty closer to the public during the Expo.

During Shanghai EXPO period, Madame Tussauds, originated from the UK, gets invited by UK Pavilion and has arranged a variety of special exhibitions such as figures of Rooney, Beckham and Buckingham Palace’s royal guard on EXPO site. It aims to show the public the exquisite craftsmanship of Madame Tussauds, priding its history longer than 200 years, and to showcase the historical UK culture and art. Madame Tussauds Shanghai is planning to exhibit several “mysterious guest” on EXPO site. Moreover, during the entire EXPO period, with the Expo ticket, visitors can enjoy a special 50% discount at Madame Tussauds Shanghai, hoping to bring more joy to the public and to make Shanghai Expo more cheerful.
