Diana
Diana, Princess of Wales married Prince Charles in July 1981. They had two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Hugely popular with the media and the public, it became obvious that her marriage was under strain in the late 1980s. A separation was formally announced in December 1992. Diana actively supported various charities including people living with HIV/AIDS and homeless and deprived children.
The Princess died tragically at the age of 36 in a car accident in Paris on 31st August 1997.
