Madame Tussauds - Washington D.C.

Theodore Roosevelt

Roosevelt was a professional historian, naturalist, explorer, hunter, author and soldier. At 42, he became the youngest President to be inaugurated into office after President William McKinley’s assassination. Best known for his strong interest in engaging the United States in world politics, Roosevelt penned the foreign-policy motto, “Speak softly but carry a big stick.” He quickly earned himself the reputation of a “trust buster” and orchestrated the Square Deal Act which promised a fair deal to both the average citizen and global businessmen. During his Presidency, he also negotiated for the U.S. to take control of the Panama Canal and its construction.

Complete with his trademark spectacles, President Roosevelt’s dapper figure dons a black suit with a long waistcoat and gold pocket watch. His wax likeness will join Presidents George Washington, Richard Nixon and George W. Bush in the attraction’s new Presidential gallery which offers an in-depth look at all 43 past U.S. Presidents.
