- National treasure Betty White made her first screen appearance in 1945, as Jimmy Lydon’s girlfriend in the educational short Time to Kill. She is most well known for her roles in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls

- Betty’s greatest achievements include being honorary mayor of California in 1955, and holding the record for the longest gap between Emmy nominations – her first was in 1951, and the next was 60 years later in 2011!

- Currently starring in Hot in Cleveland (2010) as caretaker Elka Ostovsky, Betty also hosts Betty Whites’s Off Their Rockers. She dedicates her spare time to animal rights and welfare charities
