Vocalist extraordinaire, Amy Winehouse entered the music arena in 2003 with her debut album Frank. Mixing influences from soul, jazz, rock & roll and R&B her second album Back to Black went straight to the chart tops & is widely regarded as a modern-day masterpiece.
Amy had a huge collection of awards including 5 Grammies and a BRIT, turning her into one of the most successful female British singers of all time.
Well known for her trademark beehive hairdo and assortment of sailor tattoos, Amy will be remebered for both her music and distinctive style.
1983 – Born in Southgate, London
2003 - Debut album ‘Frank’ released.
2004 – Performed for the first time at Glastonbury and the V-festival
2006 – Album ‘Back to Black’ released and reached #1 on UK charts numerous times
2007 – won a BRIT Award for best female artist
2007 – Had the best selling album of 2007 with ‘Back to Black’. The album sold over 5 million copies worldwide. In the US, Back to Black entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #7
2008 – Became the first British singer to win five Grammys in one night.
2011 - Amy dies aged 27
