Will and Kate Arrive at Madame Tussauds New York!
Wax Figures of Prince William and Kate Unveiled in New York!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their debut at Madame Tussauds New York today, when wax figures of the much loved young Royal couple were revealed. Catherine and Williams’ likenesses were also unveiled at Madame Tussauds attractions in London and Amsterdam, with each location portraying the Duchess in a different style.
In New York Catherine’s wax figure is dressed in an exact copy of the one-of-a-kind pale lilac Alexander McQueen gown that she wore to the BAFTA “Brits to Watch” event in Los Angeles last July -- replicated with permission from the legendary design house. She also wears the same Jimmy Choo platform sandals and clutch that she carried to the event and a painstakingly accurate recreation of the stunning sapphire and diamond engagement ring once worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince William is dressed in a double-breasted six button two-piece dinner suit made for especially for Madame Tussauds by Gieves & Hawkes.
In London Catherine wears an exact recreation of her blue Issa London engagement dress. Madame Tussauds Amsterdam captures her recent appearance at the War Horse premiere where she wore a lace Temperley London number. A little later in the month, Madame Tussauds Blackpool will unveil Catherine in a stunning Jenny Packham dress from her appearance at the ARK Charity Dinner. All outfits have been created in collaboration with the original designers.
The couple will be featured in the Gallery area of the attraction. The royal couple is fittingly set in a royal scene, standing in front of gold-trimmed thrones and surrounded by lavish red drapery, allowing visitors to pose and interact with the Duke and Duchess. Standing nearby is the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
