（September 12，Shanghai）It is reported that Madame Tussauds Shanghai will make wax figure for the famous Chinese actress Sun Li as the production team from the U.K. has arrived in Shanghai recently to make measurement for her. The wax figure will be produced based upon Sun Li’s classic image in the popular costume piece Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan. The project will be completed in next June and displayed at Madame Tussauds Shanghai located on the 10th floor of the New World City, No. 2-68, West Nanjing Road, Shanghai, granting the long-awaited fans an opportunity to have intimate contact with “Huanhuan”.
While choosing the celebrity of wax figure, Madame Tussauds Shanghai not only requires that he or she is the best of the industry, but also pays attention to the choice of the public so that visitors can see the idols that they want to see. As one of the most famous and influential actresses in China, Sun Li rose to stardom in 2003 for her role in Yu Guan Yin and won the “Best new face prize” of Bai Hua Award of Public Films for her role in Huo Yuanjia. Recently, Sun continued to win the heart of the audiences of all ages with her amazing acting skills and earn both high ratings and reputation for her role as Zhen Huan in Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan. Over the past nearly ten years in the acting community, Sun Li has been constantly improving her acting skills and become one of the most popular actresses in China, winning attention and recognition with her roles and works. The image of the wax figure that Madame Tussauds Shanghai will make for Sun Li this time comes from the ancient costume piece Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan. Is it the image of the innocent, love-anticipating girl or the image of the high-and-mighty empress? The mystery is to be unveiled next year.
At the campaign site, Mr. Yang Yong, Sales Director for Shanghai Market, Merlin Entertainments Group, was very glad that Sun Li had accepted the invitation about making her wax figure. “It is a great honor for us to make a wax figure for the famous actress Sun Li. She has played the role of Zhen Huan from an innocent girl to a sophisticated empress so wonderfully that the drama has become a long sensation for her unique charms. We will choose the most classic images in the drama to make the wax figure, and it will become the first one in ancient costume of Qing dynasty and a beautiful and unique landscape of Madame Tussauds Shanghai. We hope that we can fulfill the wishes of fans and visitors,” said Yang at the measurement ceremony.
In order to make the wax figure lifelike and fully display Zhen Huan’s image as an ancient beauty, Madame Tussauds Shanghai specially invited the production team from the U.K. to go to Shanghai to make measurement for Sun Li. From the innovative image report to the measurement and shooting of each part of the body, the whole professional process, including the collection of more than 200 data and color matching, took nearly three hours. Within 6 to 8 weeks, the production team will make a fine ceramic figure and a plaster mold, and then pour wax into the plaster mold to complete the model of the wax figure, which will be finally completed by the sculptor who will add hair and color and body shape. The whole process will last 8 to 12 weeks and be completed at the century-old production mill of Madame Tussauds London. The wax figure will be shipped to Shanghai from London when it’s completed. Before displaying the wax figure, Madame Tussauds Shanghai will check every detail together with Sun Li to achieve the best presentation effect.
It is reported that Sun Li’s wax figure will be displayed in front of the long-awaited fans in next June. At that time, you will be lucky to have intimate contact with Sun Li at Madame Tussauds Shanghai located on the 10th floor of the New World City, No. 2-68, West Nanjing Road, Shanghai. We believe that it will be a great satisfaction to you.
