  1. How can I pay at Madame Tussauds?

You have various different payment options at the till point: cash (only EUROS)  PIN, American Express, Maestro, Master Card and Visa. Online tickets can be paid for via internet banking (ideal), via Credit Card and via Paypal.

  1. What is the nearest train station?

Amsterdam Central Station is a ten-minute walk from Madame Tussauds. You walk out of the front of the station over the Damrak to the Dam. On Dam Square you will find Madame Tussauds between the Kalverstraat and the Rokin.

You can also take the tram to Dam Square: Tram 2, 11, 12, 13, 17 stop Magna Plaza/Dam.Tram 4, 14, 24 stop Bijenkorf/Dam.

You can also come to us with the North/South metro line 52. Get off at the Rokin stop and take the exit towards Dam Square.

  1. When is it busy/quiet?

It is not always possible to predict how busy it will be. Weekends are always busier than Monday to Friday. In school holidays it is busy every day.

Outside school holidays you can visit us the quietest after 15:00, in school holidays best after 17:00.

 

  1. Where are the nearest bus boarding and disembarking stops?

The nearest bus stop is H20 Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 176, located at the Magnaplaza in front of the Port of Cleve. More stops can be found here.

  1. Where is the nearest parking garage?

Madame Tussauds is also reachable by car. There are several parking facilities nearby, including the Rokin car park and Q-Park De Bijenkorf. These are both a short five-minute walk from Madame Tussauds.

1. Are all the images that can be seen on the website always present?

It may happen that an image that can be seen on the website is temporarily maintained at our Studios, so that this image is unfortunately not visible in Madame Tussauds during your visit. On the website there is only a selection of images that can be seen in Madame Tussauds

2. Can I touch the figures?

Yes, you are allowed to touch the celebrities, icons and world leaders. Enjoy a game of football with Messi, make some music with the world famous DJ Afrojack and walk across the catwalk with top model Doutzen Kroes.

  1. Are there professional photographers in Madame Tussauds?

We will take a series of pictures once you enter the museum. After this you are your own photographer!

 

  1. Can I bring my camera?

As a visitor of Madame Tussauds you can certainly bring a camera. Take a picture with Adele singing or photograph yourself in the painting of the Mona Lisa! With the exception of the reception you can photograph and film anywhere. This material may only be used for personal, non-commercial purposes. Prior permission must be obtained for the use of such material for commercial purposes.

  1. Can I buy photos from Madame Tussauds?

Yes, the photos taken in the attraction can be purchased afterwards. We also have the opportunity in the souvenir shop to immortalize yourself (together with family / friends) in a glass cube.

 

  1. Free photo's and videos

During your visit, you can create several unique videos and have them sent to your own email address. Don't forget to register your photocard on arrival.

Other photo's including the entrance and IAMSTERDAM sign can be bought in the giftshop. These photo's can only be bought in Madame Tussauds Amsterdam during your visit.

  1. How does the photo card and interactive videos work?

Photos will be taken upon arrival and you will receive a photo card. On the back are instructions on how to sign up. If you are registered with your email address, the interactive videos will be emailed to you immediately. If you do not register, we will no longer be able to retrieve the videos after your visit.

In the gift shop after your visit you have the opportunity to view and purchase the photos. When you buy you will receive a receipt with instructions on how to digitally download the purchased photos.

  1. Does Madame Tussauds offer special school prices?

We have special prices for schools. A condition for this prize is that one can prove that it is a school and that every ten students have one supervisor. For more information, we would like to refer you to our school page.

  1. I regularly bring groups to Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, do I get a discount for this?

If you regularly bring groups to Madame Tussauds, we use special trade prices. For this you can best email us via info@madametussauds.nl Mention the name and address details of the company. You can also make a group booking via the website.

 

  1. Where are the nearest bus boarding and disembarking stops?

  1. I have already purchased tickets through a third party or an auction site. How can I reserve a time slot?

Please follow the instructions on the voucher the ticket seller send you.

  1. I have a coupon. How can I redeem it?

If you have a coupon with a maximum number of people on it, the discount applies per person. None of our coupons are valid in combination with other discounts or in combination with the family package. Discount coupons always have a validity period. Check in advance whether your discount voucher is still valid to avoid disappointment.

With a discount voucher from the Postcode Lottery, you can order your tickets with a discount here. If you have bought your tickets elsewhere, you can  reserve a date and time slot here. This ticket is only valid in combination with your previously purchased ticket.

  1. Can I buy tickets at the box office?

This is possible, but then we cannot guarantee that you can enter immediately, if the time slot is full. Since this is regularly the case, we therefore advise you to buy a ticket via our website. You can pay at the cash desk in different ways: cash, PIN, American Express, Maestro, Master Card and Visa.

  1. Can I change my timeslot afterwards?

Yes, it is now possible to change your time slot or visit date up to 5 times via our Booking portal.  To log in, you will need the confirmation number of your booking and the email address you used for the booking.  If that does not work, you can contact the customer care center.  Keep your order number (this starts with a 5) at hand.

  1. I have a museum year card, can I use it?

With the Museum card you get a 25% discount on the door price at Madame Tussauds. You can order tickets via the following link: https://www.madametussauds.com/amsterdam/museumkaart/

Don't forget to show your valid Museumkaart(s) at the entrance on the day of your visit.

 

  1. Merlin Annual Pass

Merlin Annual Pass holders receive a 15% discount on the regular entrance fee at the box office.

 

If you have tickets and want to change the date of your visit, you can use our booking portal. This service is free of charge. You can amend your booking up to 5 times.

  1. How does a combination ticket with a canal cruise work?

At Madame Tussauds, combination tickets can be purchased with a canal cruise. On your purchase ticket there is a UNIQUE code (ticketnr) for Lovers which you can redeem on www.lovers.nl/merlin.

Here you select the number of tickets and the time slot. After this you can enter the UNIQUE code. Press buy and the tickets will be sent to your e-mail address. 

The boarding point for the boat trip is located on the Prins Hendrikkade

The address of THIS IS HOLLAND is Overhoeksplein 51 Amsterdam. On the IJ side of Amsterdam Central Station, a free ferry (Veer F3-Buiksloterweg) departs every 4 minutes and takes you to Noord within 3 minutes.

  1. Can I bring a buggy/stroller into Madame Tussauds?

It is possible to bring a buggy or stroller Madame Tussauds. Keep in mind that there are several stairs in the attraction. Our staff will be happy to help you with lifting if necessary. There is no possibility to store the buggy and or stroller anywhere at Madame Tussauds.

  1. Can I bring a (domestic) animal?

Unfortunately, it is not allowed to bring (domestic) animals within Madame Tussauds.

 

  1. Can I bring my assistance dog?

We always allow assistance dogs! However, we advise you to come outside the peak times. This way you avoid the biggest crowds and the visit will be more pleasant for both you and your assistance dog. Would you like to inform us of a visit with a service dog at least 24 hours in advance? This can be done by calling 020 5221010 or by sending an email to info@madametussauds.nl.

 

  1. Can I take luggage with me or leave it somewhere?

You can of course take your luggage with you in the attraction. Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave suitcases and / or large bags with us for safety reasons. Large suitcases and/or large bags can be stored at Amsterdam Central Station or at Lockerpoint at the Beurs van Berlage.

 

  1. How long does it take to visit Madame Tussauds?

An average visit to Madame Tussauds takes about an hour. Don't forget your camera to capture the experiences at Madame Tussauds!

 

  1. Is it possible to skip the elevator at first and go by stairs?

Sure. If you do not like to take a mechanical lift, this can be reported to our cash register staff. Someone will then accompany you with the stairs. Please note: during the holidays it may take a little longer before an employee can guide you.

 

  1. Is Madame Tussauds accessible to people with disabilities?
