Joe Hart Saves a Goal at Madame Tussauds

Joe Hart's Dad visits Joe Hart's wax figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool

ENGLAND and Manchester City number one Joe Hart has been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds, Blackpool as the goalkeeper’s dad unveils his brand new wax figure at the attraction.

Joe will be hoping to add international silverware to his Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup honours this summer with England.

Joe Hart has established himself as a world-class goalkeeper and is set to guard the goal in France during England’s Euro 2016 campaign. Famed for his physical and technical abilities between the sticks, Hart has been a formidable presence for both club and country.

The shot-stopper has been recreated in wax in an action pose that will be familiar to football fans, as he dives full stretch to his left. The 6ft 4in footballer will don an official England goalkeeper kit ahead of the Euros.

Visitors will be able to get their kicks from a new penalty shootout interactive within a new exciting area. And, with England’s history of penalty shootouts, this provides the perfect opportunity for fans to come and have a practice.

Joe’s father and biggest fan, Charles Hart, attended the unveiling at Madame Tussauds, Blackpool and was blown away by the likeness of his son’s figure.

Charles said: “It’s completely baffling to see Joe recreated in wax, they’ve done a fantastic job, it’s as though he’s been frozen in time. He was really excited to have the honour of getting his own wax figure, I know he’s going to love it and is planning to visit himself after the tournament.”

When asked about England’s chances at the Euros this summer, Charles was upbeat: “It’s an exciting, physical team with a lot of in-form players. If they can play without fear and the weight of expectation, there’s no limit to what this team can achieve. They’re a young and hungry group, this tournament can only do wonders for their development.”

“I know Joe feels the same and has complete belief in the 10 players that will line up in front of him. He’s really up for the tournament and looking forward to representing his country.”

The creation of a wax figure is a lengthy process and making Joe’s was no exception. The talented team at Madame Tussauds took four months to perfect the figure. In total it takes an experienced 20 strong team of sculptors, colourists and hairstylists to complete the figures, with each one costing £150,000.

Matthew Titherington, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool said:

“We’re very excited to welcome Joe Hart’s wax figure to the attraction ahead of the Euros. Guests will be able to visit us during the competition and get an all-action selfie with the England number one – a Euros good luck pilgrimage.

“Joe’s figure will definitely go down a storm and will feature in our sports area alongside other sports stars including teammate Wayne Rooney. We can’t wait to cheer him on this summer, let’s hope they can end 50 years of hurt.”
