Elton John’s Shoes c. 1976

These spectacular silver star platforms were gifted by Elton John in 1976 when he sat for his first figure.

More details

  • Every celebrity wants to look their best, in life and in wax. When a celebrity has a sitting with Madame Tussauds it is not uncommon for them to gift us a prized piece of their wardrobe to dress their figure in.
  • Along-side the shoes Elton John also donated a silver suit for his figure. In 1988 Madame Tussauds acquired a black rhinestone tour jumpsuits of Elton’s at auction, which was paired with these shoes for his Rock Circus figure, and later for his figure in Madame Tussauds New York.
  • Elton John’s first figure was no ordinary figure. It was the first talking and smiling figure, greeting visitors to the attraction with a special message recorded by Elton himself.
