With the help of Jenna Marbles herself, Madame Tussauds New York unveiled the first-ever figure of a social media celebrity in the Times Square attraction, on Monday, October 26th (234 W. 42nd St between 7th and 8th Aves). With more than 15 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, Marbles regularly attracts audiences in the millions. Marbles’ immense popularity made her an obvious choice to be immortalized by the famed Madame Tussauds attraction where visitors will have the opportunity to see her and even take a selfie.
This past May, a group of skilled Madame Tussauds studio artists met with Marbles in California to begin the wax figure creation process. More than 250 detailed measurements were taken, exact hair and eye color was matched and the pose of the figure was determined. In addition to being the first YouTube sensation at Madame Tussauds' Times Square location, her figure is also the first selfie-taking wax figure at the site. Known for her ever-changing style and look, her figure dawns lavender locks and a rocker chic choker necklace. The figure is positioned with an outstretched arm holding a phone that will snap selfie's of visitors from the wax figure’s perspective. Her figure will also be the first ever with its very own social media presence, uploading selfies taken with guests daily.
The Jenna Marbles YouTube channel is one of the Top 10 most-subscribed channels on the social media site and the top channel operated by a woman (as of May 2015). More than 1.8 billion video views on topics including "How To Trick People Into Thinking You're Good Looking" and "How To Avoid Talking To People You Don't Want To Talk To."
