As temperatures continue to rise during the summer months, things are getting even hotter at Madame Tussauds New York. The historic Times Square attraction officially unveiled the brand new, never before seen wax figure of Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson onJuly 30th!
Johansson, a New York native born and bred in Manhattan, will join former co-stars, Hollywood contemporaries and entertainment legends upon her debut at Madame Tussauds. Known for her contributions to film, theater and music, this will be the first time Madame Tussauds has immortalized her with a wax figure in any of their locations worldwide.
Known for acclaimed roles in films such as Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Her, she has also starred in franchise favorites Iron Man, Captain America and most recently, The Avengers. The star, who repeatedly stuns at film premieres with her glamorous style, is also known for her keen fashion sensibilities and her stunning red carpet looks. Her figure will be styled in an off-the-shoulder, fitted bodice gown resembling her gorgeous Costume Institute Gala dress from 2012. In addition to the four weeks it took to create the dress alone, studio artists at Madame Tussauds spend months painstakingly recreating Johansson’s look: each strand of hair was placed by hand, her tattoos meticulously replicated and her eye color perfectly matched.
