Frederick Douglass Heads Home

Monday, February 16, 2015

On Saturday, February 14th, Frederick Douglass' wax figure returned home in celebration of his 197th birthday.

On display in the family room of his Cedar Hill home, Frederick Douglass' figure was viewable to guests who took a guided first-floor tour. The tour focused on Douglass' family life, making his figures presence an especially appropriate addition.

Frederick Douglass moved into the home with his family in 1878 and lived there until his death in 1895.
