  • Susan was the youngest of eight siblings born into a musical family. At birth, she suffered mild brain damage that caused her learning difficulties
  • Before she rocketed to stardom Susan was an unemployed church volunteer who sang mainly in her Catholic church choir and at karaoke nights in local pubs
  • Following on from her Britain's Got Talent success Susan released a number of albums including I Dreamed a Dream (2009), The Gift (2010), Someone To Watch Over Me (2011), Standing Ovation (2012) and Home for Christmas (2013)
