Madame Tussauds Nails “All The Small Things” With New Travis Barker Wax Figure
In the grand tapestry of music, Travis Barker's journey reads like a timeless blink-182 hit, resonating with the spirit of "All the Small Things." From the very beginning, Barker embraced the ethos of "What's My Age Again?" infusing his youthful energy and passion into every beat he crafted. Through sheer determination and talent, he transcended boundaries, much like the iconic "Dammit" chorus that echoes in our hearts. Barker's career, akin to the anthemic "Feeling This," captures the essence of genuine connection with fans, stirring emotions and leaving an indelible mark on the punk rock landscape. His story mirrors the resilience found in "I Miss You," overcoming life's challenges and emerging stronger, inspiring generations of fans with his unyielding dedication. With every rhythm he creates, Travis Barker embodies the very essence of blink-182's spirit, reminding us all to stay true to our passions and embrace the power of music, just like in the timeless tracks that have defined our lives.
It’s with this passion and spirit that led to Madame Tussauds creating Barker’s first-ever wax figure. Barker sat down with the creative team, including sculptors, colorists, hairdressers and stylists, who took time to capture “all the small things”, taking more than 182 precise measurements of Barker’s face and body, including his legendary tattoos - which total more than 100 - to create true-to-life portraits. Each tattoo was closely documented at the sitting from 3D scan data and photos. Stenciling and coloring the tattoos on Travis’ figure took approximately 2 weeks for the head and 7 weeks for the body. Barker’s wax twin is the most tatted figure ever created by Madame Tussauds.
