Australian Olympic sprint hurdler Sally Pearson was today honoured in sublime wax form at Madame Tussauds Sydney with the official unveiling of the world’s first wax likeness of the decorated female athlete.

The world first reveal was accompanied by a surprise side-by-side appearance by Sally Pearson herself, with the figure now featuring as a permanent addition to the Darling Harbour attraction’s all-new Sports Zone.

Uniquely honored by Madame Tussauds Sydney for reaching the top of her field, Sally Pearson is recognised as one of Australia's greatest Olympians and the fifth fastest 100m hurdler in history. In 2014, Sally was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her contribution to sport as a gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

When coming face-to-face with her wax figure for the very first time, Sally Pearson commented, “Meeting my wax double was surreal – I’m really impressed with the startling resemblance. The team at Madame Tussauds have done an exceptional job to make my wax figure as authentic as possible.”
