A LEGEND OF PANDORA
Madame Tussauds Sydney invites you to step into an extraordinary Avatar experience, created in close collaboration with Disney, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Wētā Workshop.
Ready to come face-to-face with a hero? Here’s your moment. Meet Jake Sully, life-sized and larger than legend, sculpted in a powerful, dynamic warrior stance. Focused, resolute, and channelling the energy of a leader. His figure perfectly captures Jake’s spirit of a fighter, straight from Sam Worthington’s iconic performance in the original Avatar film back in 2009.
TORUK MAKTO
Every inch of Jake's figure is a masterclass in artistry. Take a closer look at his authentic “swamp look” costume, with its detailed loincloth, chest harness, and arm wraps. The attention to detail continues with beaded accessories, leather straps, and a meticulously reproduced necklace, of course.
His long, braided locks are styled with spot-on colouring and texture, complete with beaded flourishes. The skin glows in the distinctive blue tones of the Na’vi, with subtle striping and shading for that hyper-real finish. Even his hands, feet, and tail are sculpted with anatomical precision. Because at Madame Tussauds, creating lifelike figures is just what we do.
WELCOME TO PANDORA
The adventure begins in our Film & TV Zone. Step in and (psst, don’t blink) suddenly you’re surrounded by a Pandora-inspired landscape, glowing with bioluminescent colour, vibrant alien flora, and otherworldly sounds. Every detail, from atmospheric lighting to lush scenic design, is crafted to make you lose yourself in the magic Avatar.
This is your chance to be transported into your own movie moment. Immerse yourself in the world of Pandora and feel the energy of the Na’vi as you stand beside Jake and capture your own incredible content.
Whether you’re a die-hard Avatar fan, a sci-fi movie buff, or simply chasing the next epic photo op, this is the ultimate VIP pass to Pandora. Up close, and out of this world.
OTHERWORLDLY FACTS
-
Jake Sully started life as a paraplegic former U.S. Marine. He joined the Avatar Program to take his twin brother’s place on Pandora, becoming a Na’vi warrior, Toruk Makto, and ultimately leading the Omaticaya clan in battle. His journey transformed him from an outsider to the spiritual leader of his adopted people.
-
[Spoiler Alert!] At the end of Avatar (2009), Jake’s consciousness is permanently transferred into his Na’vi avatar via the Tree of Souls, choosing his new body over returning to his human form.
-
Jake isn’t only a warrior; he’s also known as “Dreamwalker” (a spiritual name), a water-skimmer, an aerial predator rider (Toruk Makto), and eventually “Olo’eyktan” (clan leader). His multi-faceted journey reflects deep integration into Na’vi culture, from fighter to spiritual and social leader.

James Cameron auditioned big names like Chris Evans and Channing Tatum for Jake Sully. Sam Worthington won the role because of his intensity and delivery, especially his climactic speech, "This is our land; ride now…," which sealed it for Cameron.
