Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States who successfully led his country through its greatest internal crisis, the Civil War.

“In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”

  • Civil War President Abe Lincoln preserved the Union and abolished slavery, becoming a martyr to liberty, before he was assassinated in 1865.
  • Lincoln had around 18 months of formal schooling, but was an avid reader and taught himself law.

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."
