Did you know?

She was the last Queen of France and her love of spending money was one of the causes of the French Revolution. She died by guillotine on 16 October 1793 in Paris, France.
  • Did you know, Marie had her own fairytale village built within her palace grounds? Marie's infamous towering bouffant hairdo - which was sometimes nearly 4ft high - once sported a model of a French war ship!
  • Already during her lifetime “the mother of the wax figures” Marie Tussaud made a death mask of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. Marie Tussauds herself made sketches from the last moments of the life of the French queen. The wax figure of Marie Antoinette was unveiled in honor of her 260th birthday on 21 December 2015 at Madame Tussauds Vienna. She returned to Vienna and joined since then the attraction with other Habsburgs like Emperor Franz Joseph, his wife Sisi and Maria Theresia.
