- Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna was born on November 2, 1755 in Vienna, Austria. She was the last queen of France. Her great passion for spending money contributed to the beginning of the French Revolution. She died on 16 October 1793 in Paris under the guillotine.
- Did you know that Marie Antoinette had her own fairytale village built in her castle park? Marie Antoinette's puffy hair was notorious. In the up to 1.2m high hairstyle was even once incorporated the model of a successful French warship.
- Already during her lifetime, founder Marie Tussaud modeled the image of Marie Antoinette and created a so called death mask, as she did for Louis XVI. The last moments in the life of the Queen of France were captured by the great artist as sketches. The wax figure of Marie Antoinette was unveiled in honor of her 260th birthday on December 21, 2015 in Madame Tussauds Vienna. She returned to Vienna and has joined the Habsburgs Emperor Franz Joseph, his wife Sisi and Maria Theresia.
