The Vienna wax museum in the Prater honoured the American actress, known from films such as ‘Ghost’ and ‘Sister Act’, today on her milestone birthday with a brand new figure. Her success proves her right: with over 40 years in show business, she is one of the few people to have achieved EGOT status – meaning she has won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.

The honour of unveiling the figure went to Toni Faber, parish priest of St. Stephen's Cathedral, who described the wax figure as ‘superb’ and ‘absolutely lifelike’. After the successful unveiling, the birthday cake was ceremoniously cut. The presentation was accompanied musically by the Viennese gospel choir ‘Gospelpower’ under the direction of Fabio Lahass, who performed both ‘Oh Happy Day’ and ‘I Will Follow Him’.

The figure itself is modelled on her iconic film character Deloris Van Cartier from ‘Sister Act’, who remains hugely popular to this day. She is therefore dressed in a black and white nun's costume and can now be seen – right next to Elvis Presley – in the Las Vegas-themed Wedding Chapel.

Lukas Rauscher, Marketing Manager at Madame Tussauds Vienna, adds: "Just in time for her 70th birthday, we wanted to honour Whoopi Goldberg with a wax figure as the final figure highlight for 2025 for her life's work to date. With over 40 years of stage experience and more than 100 films to her credit, she more than deserves this place with us."

Tickets can be booked HERE. Whoopi Goldberg can be seen at Vienna's Prater amusement park starting today.
